NEET 2022 RE-Exam: Why is Medical Entrance Exam happening twice?

NEET re-exam is happening because of two types of incidents which occurred during NEET Exam on 17th July 2022..

  1. Kerala –In an incident at Marthoma Institute of Information Technology, Kollam, Kerala, during frisking (metal scanning), metallic hooks were detected by a metal detector and Girls students were ordered to remove their undergarments containing metallic hooks. According to the guidelines issued for the dress code for NEET 2022 by NTA, students were not permitted to wear any clothing or accessories containing metal during the exam as a preventative step against cheating. Parents of a few girls filed an FIR, and this incident came into the limelight.
  2. Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh –There was another type of incident, which occurred due to erroneous paper distribution in five test centres from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh. Students who opted for paper in Hindi mode got their paper in English medium, and this incident came to light when an MP from Rajasthan highlighted this on social media.
