NEET 2018 Counselling Important Dates and Procedure

NEET is conducted annually to provide admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental institutions across the country. NEET exam was held on 6th May 2018. This year, 13.26 lakh candidates registered for NEET 2018 with as many as 12, 69,922 candidates appearing as per the data shared by the CBSE. NEET 2018 result was declared on June 4, 2018. This year 7,14,562 students have qualified the exam this year as compared to 6,11,739 last year. The students who scored well in NEET 2018 must be happy and some who couldn't score well in NEET 2018 must have packed their bags for coaching for NEET 2019. But the journey doesn't end here for successful candidates. Counselling is the next step to get admission for MBBS & BDS in medical College. So it is necessary for successful candidates to know about counselling dates and procedure. Here is the complete details about NEET 2018 counselling.

NEET 2018 Counselling:- The Medical Counselling Committee of India is responsible for the counselling process for the admission to MBBS/BDS in different medical institute of India. It will start the All India Quota counselling as well as the counselling for Deemed Universities from June 13, 2018, onwards as per a notification schedule released by the MCC on June 8, 2018. Candidates will be able to register for the first round of NEET All India Quota and Deemed University counselling till June 18. 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), will conduct the NEET 2018 counselling first round for admissions to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Government medical and dental colleges across all states (except J&K), 100% seats in Deemed and Central universities, seats reserved for Wards of Insured Persons (IP quota) in Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical colleges and seats at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, between June 13 and June 23. The second round of AIQ and Deemed and Central Universities' counselling will take place between July 6 and July 22, while a mop up round exclusively for Deemed and Central Universities will be conducted between August 12 and August 26, 2018

NEET counselling 2018 for the remaining 85% state quota seats (100% in case of J&K) in Government medical and dental colleges and seats in other private and self-financing institutions in all states will be conducted by the respective state counselling authorities. Candidates will have to register separately with different counselling authorities for participating in the NEET 2018 state quota counselling process.

NEET 2018 Counselling Important Dates - 

For ALL India Quota Seats - In the AIQ counselling process there will be only two rounds of counselling. After the seat allotment of first round students can take admission in the allotted college. If students couldn't get his dream college or don't want to join allotted college, he may cancel his candidature and can register for the second round of counselling with fresh choice.

After the completion of All India Quota counselling, the state will start their own counselling for admission in MBBS & BDS to different medical institution. Each state will release its own counselling schedule for NEET 2018 state counselling. Each state counselling authority will release its merit list on the basis of the NEET scores of candidates who register for the state counselling.

Candidates will need to bring following documents at the time of reporting to the college after AIQ counselling of NEET 2018

  1. NEET 2018 Admit Card
  2. NEET 2018 Rank Letter or AIQ Rank Letter
  3. Class 10 Certificate and Marksheet (for date of birth proof)
  4. Class 12 Certificate and Marksheet
  5. ID Proof (Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Driving Licenese) Prefer Aadhar card.
  6. Eight recent passport size photographs
  7. Provisional allotment letter generated online after allotment.
  8. Caste Certificate (if applicable).

NEET Counselling Result :- Result of the NEET counselling will be displayed by Medical Counselling of India. Students can check their result online on website www.mcc.nic.in.
