NEET 2019 to be held once and how it can benefit medical aspirants

In July, Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) announced that the NEET exam will be held twice a year in an online mode from now onwards. This decision evoked a mixed reaction from the students. Some of the students were happy, they think that this will give them an extra opportunity to give their best on the exam. Some students were worried that how the syllabus will be covered in such a short time, students from remote areas were concerned about online mode as they don't have access to computer and electricity shortage is another cause of their concern.

Health Ministry came as a relief for medical aspirants and raised these points to the MHRD. Health Ministry sent out its recommendation to the MHRD. It pointed out the problems faced by rural students and the logistical and counselling concerns over conducting NEET twice a year and request to continue with the same pattern of NEET at least for 2019.

Considering the recommendation of Health Ministry, Ministry of Human Resources and Development has decided to conduct NEET 2019 once a year in offline mode. Some students might feel that this has been a loss to them. In fact, this is good news for medical aspirants. How?  Watch the video if you want to know about the rationale behind this. Make sure that your concern only about your studies. Any change in the pattern must not hamper your concentration. NEET Preparation has been made much simpler with the same pattern of exam. The only thing that can hurt you is that there is no increment in the number of seats.

Advice from our end- If you were preparing NEET exam considering that it would happen in February, continue doing that. This will be much beneficial for you as you will have a good span of time to revise afterward. You will get almost 2 months revision time. So, now you have better chances to improve your rank by doing better NEET Preparation.

  • Online registration starts - November 2018
  • Last date of online registration - November 30, 2018
  • Admit Card release date - April 15, 2019
  • Date of the Exam: 5th May 2019
  • Result - June 5, 2019
  • Mode of the Examination- Offline mode
  • Syllabus of Examination- Same as earlier, this means that your preparation till now is not going to waste. This is an additional advantage of the same syllabus.
  • The Pattern of Examination- Same as earlier
