MCC NEET UG 2022 COUNSELLING

NEET UG 2022 was conducted by National Testing Agency(NTA) on 17th July 2022, results of which were announced recently by NTA. All qualified candidates have been eagerly waiting to join their dream college, which they get through MCC UG counselling process. Many of you may be wondering, What is NEET Exam?

NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a qualifying test for MBBS and BDS programs in All India medical and dental colleges. NTA conducts this exam every year. NTA (National Testing Agency) is an independent and autonomous body which conducts various national-level tests. NEET exam is conducted online in 11 languages — English, Hindi, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Marathi, Urdu Bengali, Telugu, Kannada, and Assamese. The duration of the examination is three hours, and a candidate needs to answer 180 questions. The exam paper is divided into three sections — Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

NEET UG Counselling 2022 Schedule & Date :

As soon as NEET results are announced by NTA, MCC announces the counselling process. The schedule for NEET counselling gets uploaded on the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) website. According to the MCC UG Counselling schedule, the counselling process typically starts after 20 days of NEET result declaration. As the results are already out as scheduled on 7th September 2022. So, it was expected that MCC counselling would start somewhere in the last week of September as expected. 

However, there could be one barrier to this smooth sailing between result, counselling & admission, i.e. NMC Bill.

For those who don’t know about the NMC case:-

• The NMC bill was passed on 1st August 2019, in Rajya Sabha and later by Lok Sabha and was introduced to bring out radical reforms in the country's healthcare/medical sector.
• It aimed to reduce corruption in medical education and provide solutions to the problems that arise in the proper functioning of medical colleges.
• It also aimed at rebuilding the national medical regulatory body by clearly defining jurisdiction and responsibilities.
• The NMC Bill was to be implemented in 2021, but that couldn’t happen due to the pandemic. Now, it needs to be implemented in 2022 under any conditions.
• If the NMC Bill is implemented, the counselling pattern will change entirely. The cutoff value will also vary.
• There will be a negative shift in the cutoff marks of 50% seats in private medical colleges, but other than that, it will be a positive shift for all places.
• The NMC has also ordered to cut fees for 50% of medical seats in private and deemed universities.

NEET UG 2022 Counselling Date & Process

After the announcement of the MCC list, the following procedure will be followed during the counselling procedure.

• Initially, the First Round of Counselling will be announced, which may take 30 – 35 days. The probable date for the first round of NEET counselling will be in the last week of September. We will update you about the confirmed dates on the official website of Bewise Classes whenever MCC updates the schedule.
• After completing the first round, the Second round of counselling will be started, which takes 25 – 30 days to complete.
• Then after the second round, the Mop-up round will be announced, which generally takes 15 – 20 days to be completed.
• The seats remained vacant after the Mop-up round are filled through the Final Round, i.e. Stray Vacancy round of counselling of NEET UG Counselling. This round generally takes only one week to be completed.

NEET UG 2022 Counselling Schedule by MCC

Apart from these four rounds, there could be a special stray vacancy round for admission for vacant seats after Stray Vacancy Round.

MCC released the schedule fot all rounds of counselling on 3rd Oct 2022 and counselling process for AIQ will be completed by 20th December 2022.
