NEET is a national level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs across the country.
NEET Exam has been conducted by NTA since 2019 with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education . NEET UG is a qualifying entrance exam for admission to the MBBS/BDS courses in various medical colleges including AIIMS, JIPMER & other Govt. & private colleges. NEET 2023 Exam is going to be conducted by NTA on 7th May 2023 for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS Courses as per the relevant norms/guidelines/regulations notified by the concerned regulatory bodies.
Student seeking admission in medical courses should know that registration for NEET Exam is first and most important step towards their journey as a medical professional. NTA has laid down certain guidelines for filling NEET 2023 Application Form, we have summarised them below, as :
NEET 2023 Application form filling has three steps:-
In the first step of registration students need to register themselves by filling personal details including Name, Parents Name, Date of Birth & Address etc.
Students are also asked to create a password & provide a security question with answer to recover the password, in case he/she forgets it, in this step.
Next step includes filling complete application form which requires a good amount of time and student should fill the form patiently. Some information required in this Step:
After uploading all documents students will have to verify their email id & mobile number. Students should only provide their personal or parents email id & mobile no, because all updates by NTA will be sent to these ids only.
Students needs to complete their registration by giving a fee as per their category & citizenship for filling the NEET 2023 Application form.

After successful fee payment a confirmation page will be provided , Students must check all details in this confirmation page & take print out of this page and keep it safely.
There are various Eligibility criterias for appearing in NEET UG Exam, as per related Regulations of National Medical Commission (NMC) and Dental Council of India (DCI) . Some of these are :-
If a student want to take admission under All India Quota or State Quota seats which are allocated under Govt. Quota or Deemed University Quota( other than NRI), the he/she must be an Indian Citizen and must have a valid ID proof.
NRI and OCI Applicants must have a Certificate from the concerned Indian Ambassy in the country of their residence in support of their claim as an NRI/OCI Candidate and retain the original of such document for producing it at the time of Counselling / Admission to the Courses covered under NEET 2023 Exam. Similarly, a foreign applicant for NEET 2023 shall also upload Documentary Proof (e.g. relevant pages of a valid passport or a Certificate from the Competent Authority in the country of his/her nationality regarding his/her citizenship status) in support of his/her Nationality.
Lower Age Limit :
Appearing candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course. Candidate should have born on or before 31.12.2006
Upper Age Limit :
There is no upper age limit crieteria for a candidate to be eligible for NEET 2023 exam, as decided in the fourth NMC meeting held on 21 October 2021.
To be eligible for NEET 2023 Exam, candidates belonging to Gen or EWS category must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in the Regulations of NMC and DCI.

For Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes (NCL), the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology are taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% marks.
For PWD candidates as per NMC and DCI Regulations, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 40% instead of 50%.
Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates are not eligible to appear for the ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test’. Furthermore, students with Biology as an Additional Subject at Class 12 are also not eligible.
Students who have received education abroad and wish to seek admission into medical colleges in India must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English with 50% marks in Class 12, and their equivalency determined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as per regulations of the National Medical Council.
Candiadate must note that: These are the eligible crieteria for NEET 2023 exam, some States/Institutes have eligibility criteria other than those mentioned above, may follow their own criteria at the time of admission/counselling.
