Why are you doing it?

One of the easiest and most important ways to stay motivated while doing anything is to remember, "Why are you doing it ?" It could be your passion, your dream, or the dream of your parents, or anything; you should write it down and paste it in front of your study table. Whenever you feel demotivated or distracted, look at this piece of paper, and you will find yourself motivated to work hard to achieve your goal.

Write these lines on paper and paste them where they're easily visible to you.

Consistency is the Key

Consistency can be a defining factor for every NEET aspirant like you in achieving their goals and making progress. When you are consistent in your actions & study plan, you are more likely to form an interest in all three subjects, i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology, and it helps you understand & remember concepts better. Furthermore, when you are consistent in your efforts, you can build momentum and make progress more quickly.

In our next point, we discuss how to create an effective study plan for NEET exam.

Schedule & Planning

NEET is a very competitive exam; you can't think of cracking it in one or two months. It requires proper planning & schedule to get the best out of you.One of the most crucial things to remember in this regard is that the preparation for NEET 2023 must be properly planned. For example, If you want to cover 100 Km on the regular road in 2 hours, then after the completion of 1 hour, you should be around 50 Kms mark; if you are too short of this mark, then it will be hard for you to reach 100 Kms mark in 2 hours. There are two major factors students should consider while creating a study plan.

 1. Study the entire syllabus – first, you should analyze the full syllabus and try to finish topics with high weightage.

3. It is important to remain honest regarding your preparation. Separate the topics from each subject into three parts:

  • Uncleared Topics/Concepts
  • Topics that need revision
  • Strong topics

Good & Uniform Sleeping Hours

Early to bed, Early to Rise, you might have heard this proverb since childhood, but it's high time to implement it. The idea behind this saying is that people who go to bed early and get up early tend to be more productive, healthy, and successful than those who stay up late and sleep in & the same is applicable to NEET aspirants. There are multiple benefits of having a balanced sleeping pattern, improved productivity, high energy level, and overall health. In addition, students should go out for a walk in the morning as early morning sun rays are good for the human body. Every NEET aspirant should implement this habit to stay motivated throughout his preparation journey.

Healthy Diet

Don't judge a book by its cover; the same applies to junk food. Junk food is presented & marketed in such a way that can make the products seem attractive and desirable. Still, Junk foods are often high in calories, sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats, and consuming it regularly can have several adverse health consequences. A healthy diet for a student should be balanced and include a variety of foods from all food groups, i.e. carbohydrates, Protein, Fat, Vitamins & minerals. Aim to include a variety of foods in your diet, including seasonal fruits, green leafy vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. NEET aspirants should also implement this in their diet and meals.

Stay Hydrated

Daily water intake is also one of the significantly neglected areas by students. Staying hydrated is essential for overall health and well-being. Aim to drink at least 7-8 glasses of water per day.

Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities can be important to a student's overall well-being and mental health. Participation in extracurricular activities can provide several benefits like stress relief and overall better mental health. Spending a small part of your day on activities like sports, playing instruments, or doing exercise would amplify your performance. Students often overlook this, and this leads to a reduction in their overall learning efficiency.

Avoid Distraction

The first step in avoiding distractions is to identify what is distracting you. Once you know what your distractions are, you can take steps to minimize or eliminate them. In present days Mobile phones & social media have become major sources of distraction for students. First, students should work on creating an atmosphere to minimize distractions. This may involve finding a quiet place to study and turning off smartphone internet & notifications. If available, replace a mobile with a Laptop or computer; it will help you minimize chances of switching to distracting apps.

Healthy Social Circle – Mentor, Friends & Family

Students should have a good and motivating social circle. Students should Look for friends who are positive, supportive, and uplifting. These individuals can be a great source of inspiration and help you discuss study-related things and get rid of unnecessary distractions. Family is an important source of support and can play a significant role in emotional well-being. Family can provide a sense of belonging and connection, which can be essential for emotional well-being. Feeling connected to others and having a sense of community can help to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation. Oftentimes, due to family pressure and other family issues, students tend to go for an "easy path," and there are chances he/she might get into bad things. In this scenario, a good Mentor can help him come out strong and properly guide him. A mentor can provide guidance and support to help a student navigate challenges and make important decisions.
