How NEET Percentile is Calculated?

The percentile score will be calculated based on the candidate’s AIR and its relative position compared to the rank holders. The NEET Percentile is calculated using the given formula:

NEET Percentile = 100 X Number of candidates appeared with raw score / Total number of candidates appeared

NEET tie breaker rule:

The NEET tiebreaker rule determines the final merit or rank of candidates who score the same marks in the NEET exam. It is important because the final merit or rank determines a candidate's eligibility for admission to medical or dental colleges.

Here's how the NEET tie breaker rule works:

  1. Higher marks in Biology: Candidates with higher marks in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be given a higher rank.
  2. Higher marks in Chemistry: If the tie persists, candidates with higher marks in Chemistry will be given a higher rank.
  3. Least incorrect answers: If the tie still persists, candidates with the least number of incorrect answers across all subjects in the NEET exam will be given a higher rank.
  4. Older candidate: If the tie still persists, the older candidate will be given a higher rank.
It's important for NEET aspirants to be aware of the tie breaker rule so that they can understand how their rank will be determined in case of a tie.

Understanding NEET Result 2023

The NEET Result 2023 will consist of several components that students need to be aware of to understand their performance in the exam. These components include the scorecard, percentile rank, and qualifying cut-off.

The scorecard will show the total marks obtained by the student in the NEET exam and the individual marks obtained in each subject - Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The percentile rank will indicate how the student has performed compared to other students who have appeared for the NEET exam. This rank will be based on the highest score obtained in the exam and will be calculated up to seven decimal places.

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum score a student needs to obtain to be eligible for admission to medical or dental colleges. The cut-off score will vary depending on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam and the number of students who have appeared for the exam. Students who score above the cut-off will be eligible for admission to colleges, while those who score below the cut-off will not be eligible.

Students need to understand these components of the NEET Result 2023, as this will help them determine their eligibility for admission and plan their next steps accordingly.

What to Do After Checking NEET Result 2023: NEET 2023 Counselling

Based on the NEET result, AIR, and the eligibility criteria set by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India, NTA prepares an All-India NEET Merit List 2023 for 15% AIQ Counselling. Based on this merit list, MCC conducts counselling for AIQ seats in MBBS,  BDS & B.Sc. Nursing courses. After qualifying for NEET 2023, you become eligible for admission to 91927 MBBS, 26950 BDS, and more than 52000 AYUSH seats in the top medical colleges of India.

How to apply for NEET counselling?

To apply for NEET counselling, candidates need to follow the below steps:

  1. Registration: The first step is to register on the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or Ayush (AACCC) which conducts the counselling process for NEET or their respective state. Candidates need to enter their NEET roll number, registration number, name, and date of birth to register.
  2. Choice Filling: After registration, candidates need to fill in their choices of colleges and courses they are interested in. Candidates are advised to carefully select their preferences as this will determine the seat they will be allotted.
  3. Locking of Choices: Once the choices are filled, candidates must lock their choices before the last date of choice filling. Once the choices are locked, they cannot be modified.
  4. Seat Allotment: Based on the candidate's rank, preferences, and availability of seats, the MCC will allocate seats to the candidates.
  5. Payment of Fees: After the seat allotment, candidates need to pay the admission fees to confirm their seat.
  6. Reporting to College: Finally, candidates need to report to the allotted college within the specified time frame to complete the admission process.

It is important to note that the NEET counselling process is conducted in multiple rounds, and candidates who are not allotted a seat in the first round can participate in subsequent rounds. Candidates are advised to keep themselves updated with the counselling schedule and deadlines to avoid missing out on any opportunities.
